Daintree Micro-grid Project

The Volt Advisory Group‘s proposal to deliver a renewable energy micro-grid for the Daintree Rainforest community, to improve the affordability, reliability and security of energy supply, is one-step closer to fruition, with the Commonwealth Government’s environmental assessment determining the project-status as a ‘not controlled action’.  This means the Minister decided that significant impacts on Matters of National Environmental Significance are unlikely.  The action does not require approval under the EPBC Act and the proposal may proceed in the form that it was referred, subject to any other approvals such as those required by a state or territory government or local council..
